From my personal experience as a teacher of Latin (1974-77, then 2003-21, and with my own children [two of whom chose to make Latin their college major subject, the other, became a Latin teacher], I conclude that Latin is really not difficult to learn. But many teachers have made it so. There are "good" teachers and "bad" teachers. There are those who expend effort to make the new "learning" as accessible as possible to their students, and those who rely upon the text adopted by whoever.
